Circumstances of Claim
Andrew worked on an oil platform in the North Sea. He was returning to the platform after home leave. He disembarked from a helicopter onto the platform. He tripped and fell over a metal bar close to where the helicopter landed. He suffered a knee injury as a result.
How we helped Andrew
We notified the claim to his employer BP. They accepted the metal bar was a tripping hazard since it was placed so close to the helicopter landing spot. They agreed to compensate Andrew. We instructed an orthopaedic opinion regarding his knee injury and then negotiated a double figure settlement.
