Rachel is a Partner in our Personal Injury team based in Glasgow. She specialises in acting for Pursuers in claims arising from a wide variety of accidents including road traffic accidents, accidents at work, public and occupier’s liability, medical negligence and industrial disease.
Prior to joining Lindsays, Rachel worked for a leading Scottish defender firm. This experience assists from the perspective of how defender firms and insurers approach claims which is helpful when advising Pursuer clients.
Rachel deals with litigated actions in the Sheriff Court, All Scotland Personal Injury Court and Court of Session and regularly appears in Courts across Scotland. Rachel also has a Trauma Informed Lawyer Certification from the Law Society of Scotland.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Achieved almost £300,000 for family members in a fatal medical negligence claim resulting from negligent surgery where there was failure to remove a cancerous tumour.
- Achieved damages of £90,000 for a client who was sexually assaulted by a service user whilst working as a residential care worker.
- Secured £65,000 of damages in a dental negligence claim for a client who lost several teeth due to delayed diagnosis. This included £25,000 to cover necessary treatment costs.
- Secured a six-figure settlement for family members in a fatal medical negligence claim who lost a loved one due to a negligent abdominal procedure which resulted in him sadly losing his life.
- Secured £35,000 for a grandmother in a fatal claim who lost her granddaughter due to medical professionals negligently missing a diagnosis of a liver condition which sadly resulted in her death.
- Obtained over £50,000 in loss of society awards for family members arising out of a fatal medical negligence claim involving sepsis.
- Successfully obtained decree against a dog owner following Proof (hearing on evidence) where a postal worker was bitten after delivering mail through letterbox.
- Achieved £65,000 of damages for a garage worker who suffered a chemical injury to the eye after his employer failed to provide him with appropriate PPE.
- Obtained damages of over £100,000 for family members from a number of employers after relative passed away from mesothelioma.
- Achieved just under £20,000 for a client involved in a road traffic accident abroad in Spain.
