Our client was a passenger on a bus when suddenly, and without warning, the driver of the bus began to accelerate and drive erratically, causing the bus to collide with a bridge after which it landed on its side.
As a result of the incident, our client suffered multiple injuries, including an open depressed skull fracture, degloving injury to his right ear, severed tendons and median nerve of his left hand, multiple soft tissue injuries and lacerations on his body, face, hand, and arms.
We intimated our client’s claim to the third party, who responded to confirm that liability was admitted.
We recovered a copy of our client’s medical records and arranged for him to be examined by a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, a Consultant Psychologist, a Consultant Neurosurgeon and a Consultant Plastic Surgeon.
Once we had ingathered all medical evidence and supporting documentation, we proceeded to raise a court action in the All-Scotland Personal Injury Court. Prior to the case proceeding to Court hearing, we reached a settlement agreement in the sum of £64,000.
